The Walk
A laid-back route, perfect if you just want to walk and leave stress and worries behind for a while.
We leave the car at the parking lot of Ristorante Sbeghen, head into the pine forest, and at the fork near the playground we turn left.
The gravel path climbs gently and is really pleasant. On your left, if you look down, you’ll spot a Venetian fish pond (Peschiera Veneziana). A bit further on, there's even a dog playground for our four-legged friends!
Dog Playground
Montello ForestWe keep going and when we reach a little “crossroads”, we turn left onto a quiet and comfy paved road. The green woods of Montello, full of acacia trees, surround us on all sides.
At a small shrine, we turn right. If you look around, you might spot a horse riding school and — with a bit of luck — see some horses training with their riders.
Horses in Montello Hill
Blooming meadowWe follow the main road, soaking in the magical atmosphere created by the stunning views of the Treviso Prealps. When we reach a small crossroads, we turn left and shortly arrive at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Vittoria, where we take a short break.
Now it's time to head toward Laghetto Benzoi. We start by retracing our steps along the same trail, but only halfway. After passing the small shrine, we don't turn right at the first gravel path (the one near the Dog Playground) — instead, we keep going straight for about 1 kilometer, passing another side road on the right.

Presa (typical road) of Montello HillSurrounded by the cool shade of the Montello woods, we pass a few houses with barking dogs — one of them a beautiful husky who keeps us company with his voice! When we see a new gravel road on the right, we spot Laghetto Benzoi just below through the pine trees. If the weather is nice, the view looks just like a little mountain postcard.
Lake Benzoi
To the ParkingTime to head back. We walk back the way we came for about 400 meters, then turn left onto a gravel path that climbs gently (after a house with a big garden). A short uphill stretch... and we’re back at the car and at the Play Park for kids with animals!
